The Manor has been decorated specifically to meet the needs, and stimulate the minds, prompting of conversation of people who are living with dementia. The hallways are brightly decorated with scenes that are reminiscent of peoples past experiences. These include railway station, fair ground, garden shed, laundry, beach to name but a few. The residents bedrooms are personalised with themes ( pets, planes) which mean something to them and their life histories. The bedrooms are individualised, calm and safe places designed to promote feelings of mental well being.

THE ENTRANCE HALL

The entrance is painted in a bright colourful pink that really brightens the home.

The walls have colourful framed  pictures to promote peoples memories.

There is a reception desk and a beautiful original stone fireplace leading to ….

 

THE BLUEBELL LOUNGE

This is a large formally decorated reception designed to be in keeping with the history

of a manor house. The large sash windows give a super view of the grounds and the small

paddock that currently has 2 mares and foals in. The residents love to feed carrots to them daily.

The sags and tails, the country style furniture and original features give the room a warm, friendly feel.

 

THE SUNFLOWER CAFE.

Our dining room has been designed to remind people of old fashioned tea rooms, and so encourage people

to sit at the tables and eat their meals, as they would have, whilst enjoying a day out, or visit to the shops,

and having tea with a friend or family member.

To one side of the café is the……

 

GARDEN ROOM……

This is a smaller seating area which takes in the sun through the day, bathing the residents in a warm light,

it is decorated with a garden feel, and lots to stimulate a persons mind. There are trees, vegetables, flowers and

animals amongst other things to look at and talk about. This leads on to an outside patio which is encased for

safety by a low hedge and 2 securely locked gates. The patio is newly laid to slab with 2 high level flower boxes

for our residents to enjoy a spot of gardening.

The other side of the café leads onto a small walkway consisting of a post office, notice board and post box,

as well as a general store, selling items such as veg, fruit, jam, cakes etc.

 

THE WAITING ROOM……

Is a smaller lounge area designed as a railway waiting room, with a tv for watching sport or old films wile

waiting for the train.
